This has been under-wraps for a while now but I’m pleased to announce that I have accepted a position as the Assistant Professor of Woodwinds at Kentucky State University, starting January 2019. I can’t wait to get started teaching! In addition to teaching sax and clarinet, I’ll be working alongside Marlin McKay with the jazz ensemble and teaching audio production. This is a new challenge for me but I’m ready for what’s in store! I am honored to join such an amazing faculty, excited to work with the students, and glad to be just a few hours drive from campus.
Of course, announcements such as these are never all good news. This decision to leave New York has not been easy, but I’m confident this is the right choice for me. NY, the scene, and the many musicians I’ve connected with have inspired me in countless ways, and I am forever grateful. I want to thank Ashley Chambers and Keiko Studios for the opportunity to continue developing as a teacher. I’ll certainly miss my students and the bonds formed there.
I certainly couldn’t have made it to this point without the help of my teachers. Thank you for all you’ve shown me!
Last but not least, I’m grateful for all of the support, advice, and encouragement of my family and friends. Y ‘all truly push me to new heights. Onward and upward from here baby!
